Anxiety tips

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share some quick, real-time ways to handle anxiety when it hits:

  • Slow, deep breathing: Try breathing in for 3-4 seconds and out for the same amount of time. This helps calm your nervous system and lowers that racing heart feeling.

  • Progressive muscle relaxation: Tense and then relax different muscle groups from your toes up to your head. It helps release physical tension tied to anxiety.

  • Ground yourself in the present: Anxiety often drags us into “what if” futures. Focus on your senses-what you see, hear, feel right now-to bring yourself back to the moment.

  • Challenge your negative thoughts: Ask yourself if your anxious thoughts are really true or just assumptions. Reframe them with more balanced, positive perspectives.

  • Use distraction or calming imagery: Shift your attention to a hobby, or picture a peaceful place like a beach or forest to soothe your mind.

  • Plan worry time: Set aside 10 minutes a day to acknowledge your worries, so they don’t take over your whole day.

  • Be kind to yourself: Remember it’s okay to feel anxious sometimes. Treat yourself with compassion instead of judgment.

  • Small acts of bravery: Try doing something slightly anxiety-provoking in a low-pressure way to build confidence over time.

These are simple tools you can use anytime, anywhere to ease anxiety in the moment. Everyone’s different, so experiment and see what works best for you! Stay well. 😊
