Anxious and terrified to go back to school

Eversince fake rumors about me spreaded like wildfire at my school 6 months ago ive been getting bullied, shoved, pushed, and pressed by this one kid at school. He believes the rumors even after it got debunked. I never encountered him again since we had winter break and im very anxious, terrified and in panic that I might encounter him again. Ive switched different hall routes and stalling time, and hanging out with friends so I won't have to see him again. I only have 5 months left until graduation and im not sure if my plan will continue to work

I don't know how your school functions, but if you are being harassed, I think it's important to talk to your principal or counselor - someone there that is supposed to deal with this sort of thing.

Why is this person focused on harassing you?  Did the rumor have anything at all to do with him or is he just inserting himself into something because he's a regular school bully?

He just inserted himself into the situation. All of this has nothing to do with him. He probably wanted to find an excuse to harass someone but thats very common where I live (ghetto area)

So, basically he’s got some issues with his self esteem and life and so he uses you as a punching bag to make himself feel better. Basically he’s trying to create a situation where he’s got control because in his life he doesn’t have any control.

That’s just my opinion though. Sometimes people who hurt others do so because they’re hurting. And sometimes they’re just jerks.

Still it doesn’t resolve the bullying. Since I don’t know your situation and what you can and can’t do, I can only give you my thoughts.

As a mother, if I knew my son was being bullied I would be down the principal’s throat until something was done.

If I was a father, I would probably tell you to knock him down with a few punches and tell him you’re not going to take his s””” anymore.

And neither of those is the right answer at all. You have to stand up for yourself but you need to determine how you want to do it. You have to consider the outcomes of each situation. And that’s hard because you don’t want to jeopardize anything good you’ve got going to you. You’ll be graduating soon and that’s exciting!

Do I condone getting into a fight? Absolutely not. There are always better ways to solve problems. But if someone takes a swing at me I will defend myself. I told my son that it was okay to do the same when he was young.

But, maybe when you head back to school there won’t be any issues anymore. I stand by my initial recommendation of talking to the principal or counselor or a trusted teacher if it continues.
