Hello, I’m Maritina and I’m new here!

2023 has been a crazy year for me. I broke up with my super toxic 3 year old relationship, I got into a really good long distance relationship, I visited my long distance relationship, I quit smoking, I quit my toxic job and lastly, I escaped my toxic house and moved to my boyfriend’s country.

About a week before I move to my boyfriend, I got an anxiety attack due to poor sleeping schedule and ended up with DPDR… I have experienced it countless of times before but I would accept it, move on and forget it quite fast.

But for some reason this time it hit differently. Maybe because I was expecting myself to be different? Maybe because I was expecting all my anxiety to magically disappear? I don’t know, guys. My anxiety and dpdr made me feel hopeless this time. I can’t stop thinking about it.

I don’t struggle with bad sleeping schedule anymore or problems with eating for example, but these damn thoughts are killing me💔. I feel so hopeless. My partner is very supportive but I feel like I don’t know what to do! I completed my main goal which was leaving my house to heal, and now I don’t know what to do!! I’m so sad 💔.

Hello @Maritina99, and welcome 🤗

It sounds like you've been on an incredible journey of change and growth this year. Leaving a toxic relationship, quitting smoking, and moving to a new country are monumental steps that require immense courage and strength. It's normal to feel overwhelmed after so many significant life changes, even positive ones.

Dealing with anxiety and DPDR, especially during such a transition, is challenging. Remember, healing isn't always linear, and it's okay if things feel harder at times. Your feelings are valid, and it's important to acknowledge them. Sometimes, we expect our new environments and achievements to solve all our problems, but it's more about finding new ways to cope and adjust.

It's great that you have a supportive partner, and perhaps exploring new goals or hobbies in your new environment might help. Seeking professional guidance could also be beneficial in managing your thoughts and feelings. You're doing incredibly well, and it's okay to take time to find your footing in this new chapter of your life.

Remember, every small step forward is a victory ❤️
