Change Anxiety

I just started college this week and yk it’s a hugeee change. I’ve been really anxious, so anxious that I haven’t been eating much. I know that I need some time to adjust to this change. I’m trying really hard not to skip meals and actually eat, even if it’s just a small snack. I just wish I could adjust and handle change much more easily like some people can 😞

@Swaganna

Other people might seem like they are handling it better, but it's a major change for everyone 💛

And you are trying your best.

It takes time to get used to a new place and settle in.

But it's important to take care of yourself , and yes, that means eating well 💛

I genuinely hope you settle in soon and make lots of new friends 💛

@Swaganna

Starting college is such a huge adjustment, so please don’t be too hard on yourself. Everyone settles into change at a different pace, and comparing yourself to people who seem to handle it more easily can make things feel even harder.

It’s really positive that you’re trying to keep eating, even if it’s only small snacks for now. Give yourself time to settle into your new routine and take things one day at a time. You don’t have to feel completely comfortable straight away. 💛

I hope things start feeling a little more familiar soon. You’ve got this. x

@Swaganna

It's so important to take care of yourself and to focus on eating well! I really understand how you feel as when I am down, I feel the same, but remember: YOU ARE TRYING YOUR BEST ❤️☺️

I wish you lots of warmth and healing during this period ☁️

@Swaganna congratulations and best wishes for the new chapter in your life.🎻🎻🎻

Don't stress about it being a big thing. It is going to last 3-4 years.. it is going to get old and become a habit to you. So before you fall into one way to walk down this path try it all (all positive and good things). Explore the clubs, campus, surrounding areas, people. You don't have to be hyper focused on making good friends from 1st week itself. Talk to everyone and let your interests and vibes click, you will find your people surely. And career wise, gather information about good immediate seniors and professors. Talk to them about your aim, ask for their guidance. Not all but one/two profs at least would love to help you.

And get that sleep and food. You are just starting out. Do try your best to sleep early while you can!

Most importantly, take one day at a time and put your efforts in controlling the controllable only.
