Hi, my name is Cass and I’m 23 years old. I have dealt with anxiety for a long time but it didn’t start getting more serious until the age of 20. Since then I have felt the anxiety become located in certain parts my of my body(chest/neck/shoulders), especially in the part under my collarbones. I usually will be digging at that area with my fingers throughout the day just to calm myself down or ease the pain . Yes I have spiraling thoughts sometimes and even though I know I am doing everything I can everyday it still ends up to mess with me and cause me to overthink at the end of the night and I still feel that chronic pain everyday . Does anyone else struggle through this and have any ideas on how to understand or help fix it ?

Hi Cass, I understand the feeling and having those physical manifestations, I believe that they each happen for a or different reasons, and to pay attention to when they appear helps to understand why it appears and when you understand why you can try and start working with the feelings that arise and the thoughts of the situation that manifest the physical sensations. At least I've been dealing with anxiety for some years now and I find that sometimes that helps to relieve the tension and become more aware, still, I understand that it's hard and easier said than done, but I hope you know that you're strong, you're doing an amazing job with coping with everything and that you're wonderful! Feel proud of yourself and just congratulate yourself for being you. You are amazing and really capable with or without those feelings, so don't forget that and love yourself, you deserve it. <33
