Confused on my anxiety

My anxiety comes at the most random times imaginable and whenever I am in panic mode, the first question I get asked is “why are you feeling this way” but I never seem to have an answer because I don’t know. “What are you stressed about” but nothing in the back of my mind I am not stressed about anything, I literally have nothing on my mind but just pure panic for no reason at all I could be laying in my bed just going on my phone out of nowhere my heart starts pounding. I can’t breathe anymore and I’m just panicked. I wanna know if anyone else experiences it, it’s confusing and annoying , it happens a lot at night time. It’s the worst when it happens at school though.

@intuitivePenguin5699 I also feel that sometimes, I think they call it "free-floating anxiety"☁️

Sometimes anxiety doesn’t have a visible or clear explanation, and that’s not uncommon at all. It’s possible there is a cause but it’s hidden to you or perhaps certain triggers in the environment lead to panic attacks that are associated with terrifying or stressful past experiences you don’t clearly remember. The fact that it happens more at night also seems to suggest that without the daily humdrum of thoughts while awake, the panic and anxiety starts to float out more as you don’t have distractions to keep you away from those thoughts. I am not a professional, but these are my observations and thoughts. What kind of thoughts usually pass through before the panic sets in? Have you noticed any patterns?

Well the main thoughts that pass through are if this panic will lead me to death to be honest..and I know it won’t but my first thoughts are always that patterns usually just night time or just when I’m overthinking. Thank you so much for replying!

It sounds like a panic attack. Panic attacks are usually associated with impending feelings of doom or death. I think it would help to read up more about it and seek out a professional to help you regulate your anxiety. It can be difficult to regulate on your own, but grounding exercises may be helpful.

@TheLightofKintsugi Ah, please ignore my suggestion that it is a panic attack. I forgot that I am not suppose to give thoughts on what the issue is anyways, but still, please seek out a professional if you can.

Whether you’re allowed to say it or not, it actually helped and it made a lot more sense to me and I think it is true because every time I’m panicking or about to it’s always hearing about death or thinking about it. You’re definitely right thank you so much for your help
