Dealing with stress and anxiety
Hy,
I am looking for some more recomendatitons on how to calm myself down, when everything is too much..
What I read is:
Healthy diet - I cook my own food and I eat what I like, more or less on a healthier side, occasional cheat meals
Excersise - I go to gym 4 times a week, I go hiking on the weekends, other days walking, sometimes running, rollerblading, fixing my bike so I can go cycling now
Sleep - I sleep around 7-8 hours a night, don't have much problem falling asleep, but still wake up sometimes tired
Mental well being - i try to occupy my mind during the day, so I don't think bad thoughts.. cooking, reading (a lot these days), cleaning when i feel like it
I am here on this app (thats new)
I started meditating, before I go to bed
Does anyone has any more recomendations? Thank you all :)

Hi! Personally, I found that journaling down my feelings really helps me feel more sorted and calm. Sometimes I draw as well. I think it's best to do those activities without judging my own writing or drawing. These methods really helped me when I was overwhelmed with emotions.
I also found that practicing mindfulness helps. It is a little bit like meditation, but its focus is more on recognizing and acknowledging all our feelings, thoughts, and emotions without judgment. One easy-to-practice format of mindfulness practice is called "leaf on the stream". The following steps are how I do it personally:
First, imagine yourself in your favourite natural environment. Then imagine that there is a flowing stream or a small river. Imagine yourself lying beside the river. Try your best to immerse yourself in this calming environment (eg. what can you sense? can you hear the sound of the stream? is it sunny or cloudy?) Next, look back to your heart and mind, and let all your feelings and emotions flow out naturally. Imagine writing them one at a time on a piece of paper. Then, gradually imagine yourself folding the paper into paper boats. Place the boats on the stream and let them travel with the water flow until they disappear in the distance. Try not to judge any of those emotions in the whole process, just acknowledge their existence. At last, draw your attention back to your breathing and sensations in the real world. I usually practice this for 3-5 minutes each time, and I have found it effective.
These are only my personal thoughts on this topic. Hope you have a great day😃

Funny thing, todays meditation was just about that :) letting go of thoughts, but instead of paper bouts, I had to put then in a cloud and watch them float away.
What a coincidence.
