Do Video Games Help Reduce Stress? 🎮
Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask something. Do video games help reduce stress?
Sometimes when I feel stressed or tired, playing a game helps me relax and forget about things for a while. But some people say games can make you more stressed, especially competitive ones.
What do you think? Do video games help you relax or do they make you more stressed?

I can't speak for anyone else, but like you gaming helps me to switch off. There's constant stress and creativity floating through my brain and I often need a break from it.
Competitive or not, it helps me to feel more capable to carry on, even if it's competitive or a challenging game, I feel invigorated.
Taking breaks is healthy and we all have our lil habits we enjoy, as long as we are still productive too, I don't see the harm.
It’s was my therapy last year but now I don’t even have the strength for it

video games are hugely destressing for me. they give me an escape and a purpose, i.e. achievable goals. but it does depend on the genre. if it's too action-y or jumpscare-y it just gets my nerves up so I stick to lower pressure games
Depends on the game. I hear quite often the kids shows (especially those for preschoolers) of the 80s and 90s were less overstimulating compared to many today. I think video games were the opposite. There were few save points and the music seemed to be designed to get people revved up!
Depends on the game. Some games are recreational and entertaining, while some are calculative and Logical in solving. Generally speaking stress response to the brain. Calculative and Logical game should be avoided

For me, game is a sort of thearpy, I forgot all the stress by playing games..and also it depends on the genre of the game. The more levels and challenges, the more you into it.
And morever there is an high chance that you might end up to addict to it ,this is why people usually conclude that game is not for stress relief.
~have a good day:)
