Hello everyone ..

I have struggled nearly all my life with stuttering, grew up to find out that root cause was social anxiety. A thing that has hurt me badly in every aspect.

I can speak fluently when alone, 80% with ones close to me, Stuttering and panicing with strangers and in public speaking situations.

Now that I have been through all kind of treatments; with speech pathologists, therapists and psychiatrists throughout 18 years. (Am 36 now)

I am thinking that I need to go through gradual exposure.

What do you think of this approach?

How would you suggest I find understanding, non-judgmental, and non-bullying people to practice with?

@AhmadHopeful Welcome! 🤍 I can relate, I also struggle with public speaking... at times I use to practice talking with strangers, in apps specifically made for this purpose, where u connect with people who are willing to practice communication in voice call.

It might feel very awkard and scary at first but overtime u start to realise everyone's just there to communicate nd no one really judges, cus they don't know you.

Talking to mirror with myself also helps.

Gradual exposure is actually a very nice approach 🤍

Please be gentle with yourself, you're not alone. I truly hope you find more insights here 💖 Sending you lots of love and *Big hugs* 🐾💕
