Feeling wrong regardless

There was a disagreement. Different perspective. Different opinions. Different experiences. I was polite. The other person was strongly opinionated and eventually made small judgmental remarks.

I wasn’t wrong but I feel wrong. My perspective and my experiences that form my opinions were just different. Yet I feel I was the bad person: a horrible person to be saying what I did. I shouldn’t have said what I did. I shouldn’t have said my thought.

I don’t like this part of me. It is little things like that, that become big shadow monsters in my mind. Surely I can’t be like all the time. Surely people can’t agree with me and I can’t with them all the time. But for me to feel good and feel like I’m a good person, I need validation that I am right; the support from strangers that my view match theirs.

I wish, I can be the time of people who is emotionally strong. The type that once I made the decision to let things go, it will no longer bother me. The type that understands and isn’t bother by other people’s unreasonable and ignorant remarks.

@Mdreaming101 It can be tough when we have a disagreement with someone, and they respond in a way that feels judgmental or invalidating. It's important to remember that everyone has their own perspectives and experiences, and it's okay to have different opinions. You shouldn't feel like a bad person just because you expressed your thoughts.

It's also understandable to want validation from others and to feel like you need to be right to feel good about yourself. However, it's important to work on building your own sense of self-worth and confidence, so that you don't rely on external validation.

Being emotionally strong doesn't mean never being bothered by other people's remarks. It means being able to acknowledge your feelings, process them in a healthy way, and move forward without letting them consume you. It's a skill that can be developed over time with practice and self-reflection 😊

@Mya000

Yes I want to be emotionally strong that way as well. I also want to have thick skin so that their unkind remarks doesn't get to me. I am stuck trying to process my emotion and it is consuming me. It will take time.

Thanks for responding.

@Mdreaming101 You're welcome! It's great that you're working on becoming emotionally strong and developing a thicker skin. Processing emotions can be challenging, but with time and practice, it is definitely possible. Remember to be patient with yourself and take care of yourself during the process. Best of luck! ❤️
