Fighting anxiety

Hi everyone! I joined 7 cups yesterday while feeling very anxious. I've always felt anxiety due to medical issues, but three weeks ago it got 300% worse. For a whole week I let it control me, it was absolutely awful. I could not eat or get up from bed because the fear of dying was huge. However, I've been actively fighting it for the last few days.

I write down all my fears, all my thoughts or catastrophic scenarios, then I start questioning them to show my brain that they're highly unlikely. I also try to change the energy of everything I think to make them more positive. For example, I think "I'm feeling anxious, but I will get better soon" or "I feel like I'm dying, but the feeling is going away". It might sound silly, but the brain will eventually believe it!

Also, if you like crystals, carrying an aquamarine stone helps so so much. In the same path, neuro-linguistic programming techniques are excellent. They help you change how you think so your brain stops triggering the anxiety and anchors you to the present or your true essence.

Have you ever tried any of this? How do you fight your anxiety?

@borealisday hey there ^-^

I hear you, anxiety can be a lot to handle and 300% worse sounds like a nightmare. You sure are a survivor and a fighter<3 The statements you tell yourself don't sound silly at all, they're very helpful and a gentle way to guide our brain away from all the negative anxious thoughts and yep the brain will eventually believe it. I use such positive affirmations as well, it feels safe and nice.  Thank you for sharing so many helpful ways to manage anxiety<3

The flowers in your profile picture are very pretty.

Ugh, it’s totally the hardest. For me I get used to having that fear n still being daily in life like ppl can’t tell. Especially when u got fam that would never understand such intrusive thoughts n symptoms.

I just try to go through it like u, venting definitely helps, never keeping it inside…. As I think it’s usually those emotions when we get sad or similar e lack of comfort when we need it n it makes our experience that more harder n immense which gets definitely hard to always fight the same fear n thoughts for years…

but ur right, the feelings will always stay fleeting n likely should go away or leave us at some point in a day…

as hard as it sounds I found better not to think of it not trying to n always redirecting the thinking but without avoiding it ofc…

I also show my brain it’s false even when we feel we don’t have control over such things in life….

hey I have clear crystal, does it count???

can u tell me abt those programming techniques as well??
