Heavy Mind
I feel like I’m carrying a weight that never really goes away. Depression makes everything feel heavy and dull, like even the smallest things take so much effort. Anxiety keeps my mind loud and restless. Always overthinking, always waiting for something bad to happen. Together, they make me feel small, unsure, and disconnected from who I used to be, as if my confidence and courage were slowly stripped away.
It hurts because it’s not just sadness or fear. It affects everything—my self-esteem, my decisions, the way I live my life. Sometimes I feel like I’m on a factory reset in an adult body, tired, scared, and just wanting to feel safe again. I feel helpless at times, like a child who doesn’t know where to stand anymore. But even in saying this, I know there’s a part of me that still wants to heal, to understand myself, and to find my way back. I’m not broken. I’m overwhelmed, and I need patience, compassion, and time.
@freakyrose Hello there Rose! Thank you so much for sharing this, as it takes alot of courage to do so. What you shared sounds really upsetting. It's totally understandable why you would feel overwhelmed and uncertain. Anxiety along with overthinking can be tough especially whrn they affect our self esteem and daily routine of perceiving things. Your feelings are valid! If you ever need a compassionate ear to listen to you or shoulder to cry on. I am always here for you and would love to listen to you! 💛
Thank you, I appreciate it so much.ð«¶
@freakyrose you are always welcome lovely soul! 😊💛💛💛
Thank you so much for sharing all of this, this is something I went through basically my whole life and I'm still going through it. And I'm so glad to hear you talk about it. Anxiety could be one of the hardest things a person can go through. Rumination, mind spiraling, catastrophic thinking, chronic stress, nervous system always on edge. It feels like we are surviving not living. I just wanna let you know that you're already one step ahead because you're aware of the problem, awareness is key. I've known for a while that I suffered from anxiety, but I kept trying to fix it, making small self care routines, reading self help books, watching videos on how to stop feeling anxious, doing all of this to get rid of anxiety, thinking that it's a problem that needs to be solved. But anxiety has never been a problem, it's a feeling just like any other feeling we have, I realized that all I had to do was let it be, feel it, let it run through me, let it wash me clean. All I had to do is sit with it and do nothing. But I'm not gonna lie, it's not an easy thing to do, I never used to sit with uncomfortable feelings and face them, but once I started doing so, things started to change to the better. Healing is not linear, it's messy, painful, lonely, full of ups and downs. Sometimes you feel like you're growing and other times you feel that you're regressing. That's completely normal. And you my dear are not behind, you are right where you need to be. And as you said, you need patience, self compassion and care, don't be hard on yourself. You matter.
I've been at it for a while also and it is sad to read that there a lot of people who were like us in this place, seeking for something that is only found beyond the naked eye, I hope we continue to heal, learn, understand and encouraged each other. I am greatful to found a place where people understand and uplift everyone, allowing us to feel seen and valued. Thank you. Maybe this. Too. Is part of our purpose to offer one another warmth that is priceless.
