How do I trust myself to make good decisions?
I've been struggling with making decisions for a long time now. I either procrastinate the decision or make it quickly and spend my time regretting it. I've been told that I need to just make a decision and learn from the consequences but a lot of the decisions I make on my own seem to be poor ones. It's really affecting my self-esteem because I constantly outsource decision-making to others (and usually don't even fully trust them). I feel stuck. Does anyone have any advice?

Making decisions is difficult for most everyone ..... sometimes we get it right some not so much
i agree rushing or procrastinating IMO from watching a friend does not work well.... but also relying on others to make our choices or even put their opinion in defeats the purpose of learning from decisions
because we have a fall guy someone to say "hey friend A or friend B told me i should so it was their Bad choice not mine "
Perhaps review your decision style or ask yourself why you have made specific decision in the past..... how do you feel physically when making them ?
I find if in the steps of beginning to chose something ..........my body or intuition ....... something gives me a feeling of uneasy or queasy ......................and if i focus on making the other choice and that feeling fades i know which way to go.
@purplecatclouds I struggle with this as well. I think whatever is giving us reluctance to make a decision is trying to protect us. I’ve mostly been disappointed in the result when I have not listened to the part of me that feels discomfort. Procrastination has actually been a good thing for big decisions. Not the procrastination of not doing anything, but of continuing to wait and look for other options.
Learning to trust yourself when making decisions often comes from experience and self-reflection. Taking small steps, evaluating outcomes, and giving yourself grace are key parts of growth.
