I'm worried but I know that I'm not alone in this...
I'm worried that somehow you'll drag this out and then come back into my life. It could be years from now, but I'm haunted by the thought of it. I'm worried that I'll slip up and welcome you back. I long too much for something that must end. I'm worried about my health and taking care of my family. Set me free.

Thanks for sharing with us. Seems like the thought of something/someone unwanted coming back is worrying you a bit. Understandable to feel worried about your health and family.
Sending extra energy your way. You definitely aren't alone in this!
Yeah I'm just coming out of an abusive marriage. It's hard to call it that. I guess I never saw it coming to this. As for family, I'm a caretaker for a parent with stage 4 cancer and even though I'm managing it's hard to add the divorce onto that. I've made it this far, trying to stay present. I'm just working on putting my worries at ease and some days are more successful than others.

Sometimes we don't understand when it gets abusive, I am glad you are removing yourself out of that situation. And being a caregiver can be exhausting in itself, adding on to divorce on top of that sounds very stressful. Can understand why it can be hard to put worries at ease someday. I am glad you are trying to stay present and handle everything, even though there's a lot on your plate currently.
Sending some of my extra energy your way and lots of thoughts for your mother. I hope you are finding time to take care of yourself on top of everything too.
I hope if they do come back, they've grown so much they are no longer abusive. It sounds like there's still grief and sadness there. I hope you're already moved on and happy that it'll just be a "I knew they'd come back" rather than a "oh they finally came".
