It got worse
Every day is a struggle to keep going. I wake up with a heavy heart, weighed down by the knowledge that I’m drifting further and further away from the person I used to be. I try to hold on to the fragments of my old self, but they slip through my hands like sand. The harder I try to remember, the more I forget.
I’m scared. Scared that this feeling will never go away, that I’ll be lost forever. I want to find my way back, to rediscover who I am, but I don’t know where to start. The path ahead is dark and uncertain, and I’m afraid of what I might find.
But maybe, just maybe, this is the first step. Admitting that I’m lost, that I don’t know myself, is painful and bitter, but it’s also a beginning. A chance to strip away the layers of confusion and find the truth beneath. It won’t be easy, and it won’t be quick, but I have to try. For now, all I can do is take it one day at a time, hoping that somewhere along the way, it'll get better.
But what if I never do?
@StrawberryShortcake23 it sounds like you’re feeling like you’re drifting away from who you used to be. Feelings like that are definitely valid. What are some things about yourself that used to make you feel you?
