I recently had what felt like a PTSD flashback/trigger. Would just like to know if anyone has experienced similar. I’ve recently come to terms with the fact that I have PTSD from my childhood and am trying to make sense of it.

I had an experience at work where I made a big mistake. I came home and just felt horrible. I felt physically ill, like I needed to vomit. I felt like my skin was crawling and just felt so anxious. I had all these impulses to bang my head against the wall or cut myself, I kept wanted to hurt myself. I have never had thoughts like these. Everything felt very out of control. I couldn’t sleep, I had to drink to fall asleep. I had all this pent up energy in my body, like I needed to lift weights or go on a long run. It lasted about a week and then I felt back to normal.

Is this a flashback/trigger? Anyone experience something similar?

I have had big feelings like this the panic seems like adrenaline and keeps you feeling like a good long run or hard work seems like something to shake this feeling....we build up a desire to crush our perceived foes

whatever happened you might have many feelings about and need to be examined through honest self reflection. I have had this feeling when a confrontation or situations that or dealing with  felt like i was pushing up against a wall expecting it to move...and frustrated that it was not.

The people i had issues with, co-workers and bosses,  were in my mind wrong.... but my insistence that my actions were like a heroine was also incorrect....in the end I won some points but lost friends/ respect and my ability to see the other point of view.

It took me stepping back and looking at this critically and seeing it..

This is caused by Me wanting  to redo/ reshape the conversation to re-write so  I was the hero in this....

If things go badly we feel slighted and if we come out on top we feel the margin of win should be bigger etc..... we need to process it internally    as when I spoke  of a situation like this i try to convince myself again and others how i was 100% right ... which feeds the feeling of adrenaline to fight.
