Lost in Crisis

I feel angry, insignificant, and lost and full of anxiety . I am no longer employed with the company I’ve been with for 30 yrs. I was already going through a midlife crisis, but now I’m going through a job crisis. With AI taking over, I don’t know what my future looks like, or if there is a future. I was in customer service. If I was 26 again I would join cirque du Soleil because I was a dancer and love the arts. I’m 56 and feel limited in my job prospects. I draw, I exercise, I’ve done billing, and tech support but out of the loop with the technology of today. I need help.

I think you should explore you situation with some listeners and brainstorm some ideas to find a solution to your situation..

Take care..🌟

The first step is mindset.  And I completely get how you feel - I'm your age and recently went through job loss.  But, the mindset thing - the first thought is negative.  The first thought is "what am I going to do?"  It's scary.  A therapist once discussed with me about reframing my mindset.  Instead of thinking of all the bad things happening, what if I thought of what was good about this. I get to start something new.  I'm not bound by any of the previous rules.  I can do whatever I want, and if it doesn't work out, I can try something else.

I know it's hard - I struggle daily with mindset - but it's about turning this from a problem into an opportunity.  You have lots of talents and skills.  How can you use them to do something that you want to do?

Thank you for the encouragement. I will try to keep a positive attitude about all of this. It’s a full time job to have a good mindset.

It can be quite exhausting going through all of that, and I quite understand. Just know that you're not alone. Finding the courage to seek help and support here is a good step and trust me, you're doing great. If I may suggest, you could focus more on your passion. If possible, build them and see how it goes. There's always hope. 💪🤗❤️
