Morning anxiety tips?
Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with high anxiety upon waking up? although morning anxiety is not new for me, currently I'm a few weeks post breakup and it's even worse. Any advice would help!

I can tell you what helps me with my morning anxiety. Shortly after waking, while still in bed, I do about 3 minutes of 4-2-7 breathing. That's a deep breath through the nose for a count of 4; hold that breath for a count of 2; slowly release it through the mouth for a count of 7. Repeat several times. Next, I recite a few affirmations that feel appropriate for my upcoming day. Google "35 positive affirmations to say each day" - you should see a link to the list at the Cleveland Clinic. I am a Christian, so I have my own little mantra that starts with the 23rd Psalm: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want". To that I add "strength", "guidance", "peace", etc. (As in, I shall not want peace... and so on.) There are other breathing exercises that you could also try (4-7-8, for instance). I hope you find some relief. I know how tough it is to start the day with anxiety!
