My fear generates my anxiety
This is my revelation for today. I am afraid of what might happen and therefore I have anxiety.
While this may seem logical and obvious, it really wasn’t to me. But every trigger I have goes from fear to anxiety. Someone says something bad about me, fear and anxiety. If I should be mad about something, I become afraid instead and then the anxiety comes.
Seriously, I’m a parent and if my child does something wrong I won’t get mad. I won’t say anything wrong. I’ll cover up my feelings and become afraid of saying something because I don’t want my child to feel bad. (Adult child)
This is a revelation for me and maybe it’s a step towards being able to break free of this fear and anxiety.

I see what you mean.
Fears can be irrational and not based in facts.
Nevertheless, it doesn't make it any easier to deal with.
It's about learning new ways to deal with situations that ultimately cause conflict!

Understanding that your anxiety stems from fear — and seeing how that pattern appears in different situations, even in your role as a parent — is an important and meaningful step. Recognizing these patterns is not easy, and it shows a great deal of insight and courage on your part.
