Negative stories on the internet

Hi! Recently, I found out that I’m a sensitive person. I always try to avoid negative news because it makes me feel depressed or causes me to overthink. To be more specific, I often overthink things like: “What if I were that person?” Those negative stories on the internet really affect me — they make me feel anxious and even a bit traumatized, as if the same thing could happen to me. How can I reduce this stress?

it is hard to avoid those type stories sometimes, but I found I can turn off the impact by critical thinking.

I ask myself what is missing of left out?   I find many details that make me question the completeness or accuracy of story/ news. I find far too many leave out details that would completely change story.

It is IMO click bait to frame a story to outrage or cause a reaction.  Learn the sites/ sources who do this and avoid them. headlines often completely NOT supported by fact or details ....  videos/ article etc designed to have people watch find they never did give you facts to support their position but if you watch thru it, they are monetized and paid by sites.   once you see the con easy to ignore
