Hello all

This is my first time on the app, and I don’t know really where to start. I’ve been struggling with severe anxiety and depression over the past year or two. It’s to the point where it affects my physically, including chest pains and my hair falling out. I guess I am just looking for a space to speak; I have been in pretty bad isolation over the past year. I had a falling out wirh my parents, and now it feels like I have nowhere to turn. Which is particularly frightening for me, as I am now learning or relearning everything I never knew as a child, such as handling finances, managing emotions well, dressing decent, etc. it’s a bit embarrassing, but I was so sheltered as a kid; I was never taught anything, or interacted with many other people my own age. Which leaves me pretty stuck now, trying to figure out everything at once, completely on my own. And I have no clue if I am doing a decent job or not. My car recently broke down, which was my only means of escape from the isolating feeling, and now I am in a dark space, mentally. My financial situation is pretty tight as well, so right now I am just stuck in paralyzing anxiety, and I don’t know what to do or how to get out of it. On top of learning who I am, or what I should do, my only means of peace/escape is gone, and I just need new ways to feel happy or alive again.

Don't be embarrassed.

We all have to learn and take things one day at a time.

I'm sorry you struggle so much with anxiety.

It can be intense and tiring.

When I'm anxious, I listen to music, to stop the overthinking.

I count my breaths slowly until my heart rate slows down.

I tell myself often, this cannot hurt you, it will pass.

Most things are only fears but not facts!

Welcome to seven cups.

It's great to have you here 💜 💕

Hello . I have been there. Still having some moments of anxiety. Friend. Anxiety is tough. Very hard. I can understand how bad you are feeling . But good thing is you are not alone. And you have the ability to move on..thats why you are here. You have some courage to open up. Thats the first to handle anxiety. You can take small steps when anxiety feel comes. Sip water slowly. Breathe. Keep your hand on chest to feel the heart beat. Tap it slowly..very slowly. And say kind words. Like yes. I can feel you. It helped me.. you can try therapy. Therapy reduced the anxiety for me. Meds helped me to be normal and happy. I hope you will get good moments. Friend..each one have their own calming techniques. So just try one by one slowly. You can find your calming method .

I I understand all of that. Firstly, don't worry, a lot of people are in your same condition so don't think that anything is wrong with you. Being sheltered may make you feel that you are at a deficit with owning physical property but try to look at it as a blessing socially. Most intelligent people spend a lot of time alone. Material things don't matter nearly as much as you think.

Secondly, know that everything that you can imagine for yourself, you can accounplish. Start with short term goals that dont cost money. Force yourself to go outside and take a walk, you need to feel the sun when you are depressed or the walls will feel like they are caving in on you.

Financial success feels good but it is more important to be a kind person and have integrity. Start everyday with a prayer , even if you can't go outside. Try to only search for positive things when on your computer ot phone. Although it sounds cliché, smile in your dark moments .

Your parents are just flawed people like we all are. Maybe they are doing their best, maybe they are not. It doesn't matter because you can choose to do your best and be an example to them. Most parents have a hard time getting older because they have not tapped into what they really love to do. You have to figure out what you love to do. If you can figure out how to make money doing what you love to do then you will feel more fulfilled. You are worthy no matter what you feel like you dont have. You are exactly where you need to be even if its not where you want to be. Try to look at being alone as peace instead of inadequacy and loneliness.
