Perfectionism leading to no productivity
I want things to be the best or not at all. This makes it difficult for me to either do my best or not start anything. I often chose the second. Eventually this leads to anxiety.
At least you recognise that it's perfectionism, and you realise it's making you anxious. Just remember if you feel a weird tension to be perfect and it stops you from moving forward, it definitely isn't natural.
My favourite model for trying at anything is imagining a baby learning to crawl or walk. They patiently fall down as many times as it takes to stand up. If a baby was terrified of falling, it couldn't progress. Babies don't have anyone telling them how to learn or fail, their way of learning is how nature intended. All our fears about perfectionism is learned from society's lies about how to succeed.
P.s. I'm also a perfectionist! I tell myself what I'm telling you.
