Rough couple of months
I'm a father recently displaced from my home and relationship so now my daughter and I are staying with family and I'm struggling with keeping the racing "what if" thoughts of worst case scenarios while trying to keep myself and my daughter from falling apart with minimal outside support...a simple 10 minute conversation could rewrite someones entire day
@shyPlum4561 I hope your heart and mind finds rest, peace and comfort. And, I hope you find a permament residence of your own.
I can understand how our mind races to the worst case scenario. But, we can only do what is in our control and hope for the best outcome. One day at a time. I really hope things get better for you and your daughter.

I am sorry you are going thru this. focusing and stressing on worst case scenarios. I used to do that too it only caused me stress and put me on defensive mode with is hard to live like.
I read somewhere that thinking about best case scenarios is just as easy and take less effort than thinking of the worst. When I was in defense mode it is like trying to catch a ball with your hands in a fist.... open your hand tell yourself we cannot be open to good if our hands and arms are full of garbage.
I thought it was too simple but gave it a try and the stress eased and I was able to enjoy even small wins and accept that MOST things that are somewhere in between. you also are showing an example to your child to not shut down fearing the worst all the time.
