School and financial stress
My first semester back to school starts Monday. I started small, with only 2 classes, to hopefully ease myself back in. I'm worried I've forgotten everything after 8 years of not studying much of anything. I think I always circle back to thoughts of money more than anything. Yes I'm worried about not being capable of passing my classes and intended program, but I'm more worried about losing all the money I'm sinking into it. I pay all my bills alone, and work hard to do so. I'm cutting back hours for classes and I'm constantly wondering if I'm making the right decision. But I know I cannot do my job forever, it drains me and leaves me feeling as though I can never do enough. I want a career that gives me freedom to live a happier life. I'm just overwhelmed with the path its going to take to get there, and classes haven't even started.
Any adult learners here? Can you tell me it works out? How did you cope with working, paying bills, and getting good grades? Any and all words of encouragement gratefully accepted.

It sounds like you have really thought this out and prepared well. As we get older, we are better at prioritizing. I believe that your motivation will carry you through this. You have big group to fall back on if it gets tough. I believe in you!

I have mulled over this decision for a long time. It seems to be a theme for me, to think of things long and hard, and when I finally get fed up I finally make the jump for something new. My comfort zone is hard to break free from. But I'm remaining hopeful this will lead to a better life.
Thank you 💜

You can do this 💛
I believe in you 💛
It seems impossible now, but try and just take it as it comes, one day at a time and allow yourself time to settle back in 💛

I am trying to do that, although its easier for me to imagine all the unknowns rather than the current moment. Thank you for your support 😊

A pleasure and I've no doubt you are trying your best 💛
hey there! 🤗
first off, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed, especially after taking a break from studying. just remember, you’re not alone in this. so many adult learners have been in your shoes! it might feel daunting now, but taking those first steps back into school is a huge accomplishment. balancing work, bills, and classes can be tough, but with some good time management and self-care, you’ll find your rhythm. plus, the freedom and fulfillment a new career can bring is totally worth it!
just take it one day at a time, and don’t hesitate to reach out for support when you need it. you’ve got this! ❤️
