Seeking Guidance on Mental Health Struggles

Hey everyone, I’m reaching out because I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed lately, and I think I might have ADHD. My thoughts are racing at a million miles an hour, and it feels like my mind is just too big for my head. I can hold information but feel like I need to write everything down all at once. I can’t sit still, and I often feel the urge to break or rip apart things around me. I forget half the things I think about and struggle to keep track of what I’m saying. I was diagnosed with anxiety after experiencing panic attacks, but I’ve been lying to my counselor about a lot of things during our sessions. For example, when she asked if I’ve stopped practicing basic hygiene, I said no, but I have. I dont take care of myself like a normal female should. I’ve told her my biggest supporter is my mom, but that’s not true. My mom often says I’m just seeking attention when I try to explain what’s wrong. I’ve expressed that I think I have ADHD, but she dismissed it as me wanting problems for attention. I feel like my mental and physical health are deteriorating, and I struggle to take care of myself due to depression. I need to be honest with her, but I’m scared to open up because I’ve already been lying. I just want to stop struggling and find a way to express what I’m going through so I can get the help I need. I’m feeling really lost right now and I don’t know how to move forward. What do I do because i don’t know how to get the help that I need because I want to stop struggling, I want to stop having suicidal thoughts, and I just want to be better. Any advice would be really appreciated.

So you know you are lying to the person hired to help you..... you know that may be hindering your progress but stop short of telling truth because you do not not want to admit your lied.

If you want progress and a break thru why would you continue to do what is NOT working?

just come clean tell your therapist exactly how it is .. i feel most people i know struggling with severe anxiety often are trying to be someone they are not and keeping up a lie about things. . do not try to get the diagnosis you think you have instead embrace when you find the real truth out your anxiety and feelings will start to diminish or change.
