Sleep anxiety
Suffering with not being able to sleep which is now causing anxiety about not sleeping and I am incredibly anxious. Does anyone suffer with this and how do you stop it?
@Kerry90Hello and welcome to 7 Cups.
Sleep Anxiety can be very tiresome.
When I was having issues sleeping due to my anxiety, I turned to listening to positive affirmations on YouTube. I downloaded a couple of 2 hour and 8 hour long sleep sessions and listen to them with earbuds while going to sleep.
I found they helped with distracting my mind from what bothered me.
Jody Whiteley has a lot to chose from and has a very calming voice.
Good luck with finding something that helps you get a good nights rest.
@braindamag3 hi thank you I will give this try. I just feel like I’m stuck in a cycle that will never end.
@Kerry90
I know that feeling, I lost me BFF of 12 tears to a disagreement between the both of us and after that we each thought that we did not want to ever speak to each other. Thankfully just yesterday we hashed out our differences and we are at least on speaking terms, it might not be like it use to but my mind and heart can finally rest.
The "What ifs" would race through my mind and either keep me up or if I woke at 3 or 4 am my mind would race and I could not get back to sleep.
This happened to me with my Bestie too it was really tough. We reconnected and it's not the same but I am glad we reconnected. Everyone changes and grows through time and so does the way we relate to each other it seems..
@Kerry90This anxiety you are experiencing is shared by many people and you are not alone. It can be understood and it can be improved. Take your time and don't put too much pressure on yourself. Even if you don't sleep well tonight, it's okay - you'll get better. 💛
Hi I have this too. My grandad used to fall asleep with the TV on . I have tried that lately and it's helping. I also wear ear plugs .. I take nutritional tryptophan and nutritional lithium in very small amounts and melatonin gummies. You have to check with a doctor to see what's best for you I have talked to doctors and friends with relatives who are doctors etc. Do your research butjust sharing what is helping me. Also if I am sleepy during the day and have time and feel safe I let myself catch up on sleep then.
I have found some great meditations to listen to. I sleep with a fan on and when the weather gets cooler there are great youtube sites with color noises to listen to. I also read books to fall asleep. These things work when I wake in a panic and can't fall back to sleep because of worrying. Helps stop racing thoughts.
Hey, i feel the same, i often randomly open pages of Quran and randomly read a verse that feels like God is directly talking to me somehow its always the answer to whatever goes through my mind.
