Tired of Living Like This: Seeking Hope & Practical Steps for Anxiety
I’ve been living with anxiety and panic for over 20 years. It’s not just panic attacks — it’s constant symptoms, even at home, to the point where I often stay in my bedroom. I’ve tried Thrive, CBT, counselling, hypnotherapy… but I still feel stuck because the anxiety feels so automatic and overwhelming.
It’s incredibly isolating, and sometimes I wonder if there’s more to life than this. I’m trying to start small and learn to stay with panic instead of running from it, but it’s hard when every step feels like a mountain.
If anyone else has been through long-term anxiety or agoraphobia, I’d love to hear how you began turning things around

I'm sorry that you are struggling and for so long!
My sister suffers with anxiety and what has worked for her, she does small and manageable things, creating daily coping mechanisms to live with it better.
Not trying to eradicate it because that doesn't work .
She focuses on counting her breaths slowly until her heart rate calms down, if she's having an attack .
She listens to music to drown out the overthinking and negative thoughts.
Small steps gives her confidence and when she has an attack, she tells herself she is ok, she is safe, it cannot hurt her, it will soon pass.
Then the next time an attack happens it's not as scary.
I hope you know here you are not alive and you begin to atleast feel less alone in this!
