Hey all!

I would love to hear your coping strategies for dealing with this? if you feel comfortable sharing of course :)

I have had really ad weather anxiety my whole life. Mostly wind likely due to sensory processing issues. Spring is happening were I am and as much as I love it, that also means really bad weather is coming. Next might a really volatile storm that is likely to produce strong long track tornadoes. I am already scared. I have coping mechanisms that help some, but I would love to know some ways you have gotten through Storm/wind/tornado Anxiety?

@TealPhotog God bless you 💗 I just heard about the big storm coming in the U.S 😕 I've never been in a  really bad storm like the ones you get, so I don't have any tips. But please be safe, I will pray for you 💗 hugs you tightly 💗

Thanks Tiny, I need all the prayers & hugs I can get! Where I am at ,based on past experiences, I should be relatively safe. However I am also going to remain on alert because a tornado in my area, can’t be ruled out.

@TealPhotog

That sounds really tough, and I completely understand why this time of year is stressful for you. Having a safety plan can help provide a sense of control, and noise-canceling headphones or calming music might reduce the sensory overload from the wind. Grounding techniques, like deep breathing or the 5-4-3-2-1 method, can help keep you present, and talking to someone about your fears can be really reassuring. It may also help to reframe your thoughts by reminding yourself that storms pass and that safety measures are in place. You’re not alone in this—sending you lots of calming vibes!

@TealPhotog quick update. It wasn’t as bad as expected, but easily could’ve been.
