Trigger warning: Bereavement

I’ve been having a really hard time with my anxiety lately. I’ve had it fairly under control until I lost both my grandparents over Christmas. I have been on and off (mostly off) work since.

I feel like the grief of their passing has brought up grief from by dad passing years ago as there wasn’t much closure. I feel guilty because I feel like I don’t have a reason to feel like this as it has been so long.

The thought of going back to work gives me so much anxiety about what people will think when I go back. I have anxiety attacks every morning when I try to leave and the longer I’m off work, the more anxious I get.

I’m at a loss for what to do…

Of course the grief in my opinion comes in waves and cannot just be i wrapped that up and ready to move on.

Lots of emotions on the surface can make us anxious about maybe we will fall apart. The staying away from work is adding to it IMO. the stress of how long can you be gone to avoid maybe someone offering condolences and you have emotional reactions.        Most of what i tried to avoid with co-workers when i was having issues never turned out as big of deal as i worried about most people can be supportive and sometimes a person can say something you never expect that gives you a sense of peace.
