Knitting or sewing helps me, because I can focus on the feel of the yarn or the fabric

When I have anxiety I like to draw or clean . I like to clean when I am restless that way I can take a nap. If I have anxiety and I am not tired I like to draw on the videos on YouTube how to draw animals. It keeps me from thinking of the trigger causing the anxiety.

I have two hobbies that help me calm down and relax. The first one is colouring: I have loads of colouring books and pens and pencils, it also makes me proud when I finish them to see my finished piece! Another is reading: I love to just curl up with a good book and it helps me feel so relaxed!

I think what works best for me is a run or walk. In addition, I like to play video games if I really want to distract my mind. After I am able to calm down, it helps to come on sites like this and actively post about my feelings or simple questions like these. I am working on handling my anxiety each day, and I am always looking for new acitivies to help handle it in the healthiest manner possible.

Video games big time. Then talking to friends (depending on the topic). Music definetly does. I listen to metalcore and rock, it resonates with how i'm feeling. Walks..sometimes when it depends on the weather and temp. A lot of my hobbies that relax me are on the computer.

I was looking for this question to see how I cope. Most of the times I don't feel like I am but here's what I do:

1. Clean. I follow some cleaning accounts on my instagram to gather tips & tricks that will help to keep the space around me tidy. I find it really fun.

2. Listen to music and sing/dance along as though I'm a celebrity! - SO soothing for my soul.

3. Reading around my field of work. This might sound anxiety inducing or stressful but I find extra knowledge always helps me to feel confident and smart. I basically put the anxiety away by being able to answer whatever someone asks me about science!

4. Watch animal videos - TheGoldenRatio (snapchat and insta) are my go to doggos. I absolutely adore the whole family. They help me to escape from my surroundings into a world of love, toy sharks and how many jobs vink has (I hope someone gets the references). But definetely find your escape pals, dogs are always the answer.

5. Try to plan days out. I love being out in the sun so today I'm going on a picnic. In two weeks (my birthday), I'm going to a zoo encounter. Try and make the outdoors your hobby and see where life takes you. I'd love to have an encounter with a tiger, penguin, giraffe etc. maybe even a chance at swimming with dolphins! People are happier when they start to endulge in what they love.
