My panic attacks are getting worse

have a panic disorder and since I have started college it has gotten steadily worse. I'm a junior and at this point I amafraid to go to class on Tuesday and Thursday. I don't know why I had one negative feeling in that class and I now I get scared every time I think about going.I just want to end it all at this point. I see people who are happy and go thereand I am scared just thinking about leaving my front door. I started medicine at the beginning of the semester that just made me want to sleep. I would sleep all day and lost all emotion or feeling for anything. I ended up alienating myself from my friends because I no longer felt emotional toward anybody. I ended it cold turkey so I could focus and wake up but now my symptoms are worse than ever. I just am afraid of people now. I get scared at the thought of being surrounded by them. A few months ago I loved people and hated being alone. I had to withdraw from 2 of my classes and now taking only 10 hours. Yet I am still too scared to even check my email because I know it will just be bad news and I don't think I can handle that. I used to bypass that by going directly to my professors rather than emailing them but now I'm too afraid to leave. I had friends who would help but now they eye me suspiciously like I'm crazy. Now I have become a recluse please what do I do?!

What was the medication they gave you? I was told I have general anxiety way back in 2005 and the doctor gave me Lorazepam. That stuff made me sleepy and crabby and made my concentration/memory/attention span even worse! I stopped seeing that doctor .. If everything changed after you started taking the medication, you should talk to your doctor.

The medication I was given is Lexapro. It seemed fine at first but when I got back to school I had no fight or zest for anything. I alienated myself from the people closest to me because I just couldn't relate to anyone. I ended up sleeping all the time.

Hi~

First off,Imbummed out to hear you're not doing so well. :c My panic attacksdontstem just from social encounters, but I think I've been where you are, at some point.

One of the most powerful things my psychologist told me, was to try and accept that the panic attacks are apart of you. I know for myself, i get very wound up on just.. not wanting to be my panic disorder.

I think you should seek counselling at your school. Are your professors aware of your mental illness? If not, they should be informed. Its friggin hard. It really really is. I was working for a couple years between school, and ADMITTING i had panic attacks to my superiors was the absolute worst.. Enough to send you into a panic attack.

The councellors should help you start up a support system for yourself.Talking to them about your current anxieties might help you gain new perspective.Screw any weird looks you get from people on campus or in your class.

This is about YOUneeding to be WELL.

(Also. I think its really awesome you're going to school. That you're still trying despite your anxieties flaring up. You've got more fight in you than you know. :D )

...check in again, yeah?

Hi, I just clicked into your post. I know exactly how you are feeling. I am on the same medication and i am surprised because i never put my depression down to the side effects of the tablets. They are only a low dosage to help with panic attacks but everything you are describing seems similar to mine. I thought it was just the situation i am in that has made this worse for me. I think by the sounds of it we need to come off this med. My situation is minor but it has turned me into a demon. Hope it helps to know there is someone in the same boat as you. We need to start looking after ourselves and figure out what will work for us as individuals. as opposed to what works for the people around us. If we have to have a poopy day then so be it. x

I am on the same boat as you so you are not alone :( I am sorry.

I have been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks since I was in the 8th grade, during those years I have also developed social anxiety and even talking to people triggers panic attacks! Some days are better than other and some days are worse. Recently I have found something that helps me to cope with the anxiety and control my panic attacks to a certain extent. Although it does not cure my attacks It has really helped me improve.
When you have a chance I would recommend you take a look at anxiousreview . com
It is a good read, I hope I helped somebody else out there! :)

I am posting this so maybe someone will learn of what i have done to take total control of my panic attacks. I have had attacks for years and to keep this short i have been studying my symptons through time. Well i finaly made a connection as to why i get attacks. My attacks come to me because of a pinching nerve in my neck. How i finaly figured it out was i was driving and one hit me. I went to my chiropractor with great difficulty but the instant he did a certain move on my neck. It quit instantly. So i studyed his movement on my neck and now if i get a feeling of an attack coming i perform the movement on my self... I also take ibprofin comming.

How do I calm my severe anxiety disorder?

Anxiety is an incredibly stressful, but arguably manageable disorder. Many people still work, spend time with friends, and hold onto relationships while living with anxiety. But others are more affected by it, and some struggle to go through each and every day.

If it's your first time visiting the site, you have to check it out and get your medication now it is a safe place. contact : Home Care Pharmacy Now

So Ive been suffering from what has been determined to be panic attacks and I curious to find out if anyone else goes through my symptoms as well. Mornings for me used to be normal wake up make some coffee relax and a few hours later I would eat.

Now its a whole different story the minute I wake up I feel off balance cloudy and kinda out of it. If I dont eat the minute I wake up I feel like Im going to pass out and it turns into a panic if I dont give my body what it wants (food) once I eat I feel much better but the dizziness/ unbalance feeling is still there but not so much of the panic/ anxiety feeling.

Does anyone else here feel this way? Im currently on medication but this happened before ever taking anything. I feel completely lost in this situation also Ive been tested for diabetes and everything came back normal.
