Panic Attacks Creep Up and Surprise You
I have been doing pretty okay in the recent weeks with my anxiety. I guess I could say that my anxiety and I came to a bit of an understanding and it wasn't going to taunt me. And then this week happened. I don't know exactly what the deal is, but earlier in the week I woke up in panic mode. I got over it during the day, but then I was triggered my something that happened during the day and by the evening it was peaking.
Today - much worse. I wake up and it's there. About a 7 out of 10. And it won't go away. I don't know what's bothering me. I mean, I know everything that's bothering me, but it's not any different than any other day. Today - it's exhausting. It's like Anxiety took a vacation for a few weeks and got all rested up and is now ready to get back to work.
It's tiring and I am tired of being tired.
I hear you on the tired of being tired @thoughtfulmomma
If you want, sometime I'm open to talking about emotional mechanics.
@thoughtfulmomma Sorry to hear that. Happens to me sometimes too. Panic attacks can be so sudden and difficult to face.
Same thoughtfulmomma how did you get through it

Sometimes the only way to get through it is to go through it. Which stinks, because it's hard and awful. But, what I've been learning through meditation courses and therapy is that trying to avoid the anxiety or panic attack or whatever issue doesn't help anything. When an attack happens, you kind of look at it factually, I guess. "I'm having a panic attack. I'm feeling nauseau, or shaky, or dizzy, or whatever feelings. It feels awful, but I'm safe. I have felt this before and got through it before." And then I just work on refocusing my attention elsewhere. I play a game, or a turn on the TV, or go clean something, or if I'm not too panicked, I'll go for a walk outside to see some blue sky and get some fresh air. You'd be surprised at what even a short walk to the mailbox can do.
