Fear of breathing
The title is silly, I know. I have a severe fear of death, and anything normal to humans terrifies me. I feel out of body constantly, so whenever I recognize a normal human function, I freak out thinking it’ll stop and I’ll die. I get scared of breathing because I worry if I don’t breathe enough, I’ll faint and die. The same applies with swallowing and sleeping. How can I stop believing I’ll die by simply not breathing enough?
Im not sure if your religious but take it from the billions of Christians that have lived in this world and accept Jesus into your heart and build a relationship with him and find a good church that preaches only what the Bible really says I’m a Christian and being completely honest I have no fear of death I get so excited about heaven!! And just so you know your not alone
I am religious so I suppose it’d be better to focus on religion than breathing :) Thank you!

It must be really hard to coping since breathing happens every second. In psychotherapy, cognitive restructuring may apply in this situation. You can do some practice to help you to realize that not breathing won't bring death. Take a very small step each time. For example, try to hold your breath for 1 second, and you will found out you still alive. Next time try 2 seconds, and so on. Anxiety may decrease when you found out that the danger you face is not as bad as you thought. Wish you the best.
