Is fear of failure a phobia?
I desperately want to succeed in business but fesr of failure is stopping me

Interesting question .... i think fear of failure is so common many might not see it as a phobia.
i think in many ways fear of failure ... is contagious ....
example if a parent has experienced setbacks or failures ..............they tend to encourage kids to play it safe ....... do not do the big moves ...... to learn to fear failure........it is like clipping someones wings..
same goes for "friends " who warn of risks not because you could NOT succeed...... but IF you do....... they are shown they are held back by fear of failure.........
How can one overcome this phobia?

Yes it is "irrational and extreme fear of failing or facing uncertainty is a phobia known as atychiphobia.".
There is also the fear of being judged known as Social Anxiety Disorder.
Yes fear of failure is a phobia - I also have it (as a result of trauma and abuse) along with several of its "friends" that may or may not also be impacting you.
Fear of success, Fear of making mistakes, Fear of Disapointing others, Fear of *being* a failure, Fear of getting in trouble, Imposter Syndrome, etc.
Is this a fear that has followed you all your life, resulted from a known incident in your past or is fear related to a current situation?
