Coping with anxiety
Hey everyone, i was just wondering how everyone copes with anxiety without receiving medication or counselling. I was diagnosed with anxiety a while ago and was going to get counselling but i was too scared to go so i never went and received it however i am still struggling and was just wondering how everyone else deals with it :)

Greetings, it is very hard to deal with it by yourself like I do.
Maybe, when you gather some courage it will be wirth to try a counsellor if one is available to you. None of mine worked but I have tried 5 before giving up and I am odd, but many people out there feel like counselling is helping.
I have explored different stages with my anxieties:
- tried acceptance. I tried to accept my anxieties and live with them. Letting them pass through me and wait out panic attacks however unconfortable they were.
- tried fighting. Whenever overwhelmed by anxiety I tried to overwelm it too, so tried swearing and cursing it. Dang anxiety...
- tried distractions, anything that would snap me out of the state of anxiety, mental distractions or physical or just a shock like pinching myself.
- friends and close ones. We live in the times of good interhuman communication so reach out to your loved ones or friends if you have them and talk about it.
- pets. Dogs and cats help with anxiety with their calm reasurrance or just distraction. Even a fish may help you for the same reasons.
Unlike myself i hope and wish that your anxiety path will come to a healing conclusion 🤗hugsiez...
@sunnyCat8595 hi there. Welcome to the forums. I'm glad to hear from you. Well Done for sharing your story.
I definitely can relate to anxiety. I not so long ago got diagnosed but I think I always had it any alongside depression. Depression is different to anxiety but the two come in hand and I know they both play a bit and either one isn't better then the other. I don't know know if you have it or not?
Anxiety is really difficult to deal with day in day out. Wherever you go or do you have it there and then and never goes away. It's true anxiety won't go away and there will always be tension there. Everyone gets anxious and it's normal but too much is not good as we're not suppose to deal with that much of anxiety.
Anxiety can happen anytime or come along whenever. You said you had it for a while I believe it didn't come on from its self maybe something changed and that made you withdrawn and now dealing with anxiety. I don't know the ins and outs about it but whatever it was you know more then me and have idea or some feeling of it how you feel.
That's no easy way of dealing with anxiety. We experience it the anxiety comes up at times we it's unlikely and at times when we feel out most anxious but it's dealing with the there and then of it. When you feel your getting anxious it's observing and letting you see for yourself how it's making you feel in the moment. Things like my heart's racing, I'm starting to get embarrassed, can anyone see me feeling anxious right now, what will people think of me, how I am suppose to feel now, what can I do about, how is this making me feel, what isn't helping? It's questions and thoughts and ideas like that you need to ask yourself. Practice in the situation very quietly how it makes you feel. Maybe try looking at your surroundings seeing if it's that making you nerves and ask what can you do? Look at the times of the day when you feel like this and write down what happens and how you feel. Set goals little goals on what you will do to not over think or feel things. I believe it's alot of thinking sometimes with anxiety and you may get thoughts or voices what contributing to that. It's anything what you can do what you think will help yourself. Things what will make you better. It's a simple thing like talking to a friend or a stranger whebert you feel down get advice or help through them just letting someone understand. There are things you can do to overcome this or make things easier.
There's lots of help on here on the forums about coping with anxiety. You can find it on the forums page or ask a listener. Anyone will give you the tools or resources you need to help you get further in your path.
These things I'm mentioning is something what's helped me but I'm not saying it will help you. It's a just guide a outlook on what you might think will help or over time. It's not something you need to do or either. It's a just suggestion or thought. Whatever.
