Due to past trauma, the slightest thing can trigger a panic. How do I calm down when I panic?

@saiheart05
Sorry to hear you feel panicked because of trauma :( Have you ever tried grounding techniques like the 5,4,3,2,1 technique? These can sometimes be helpful :)

Breathe in by your nose, and wait until 5 seconds past. And then breathe out using your mouth. Continue for 5 routines.

I know the feeling…. I wake up some mornings already feeling like I have an elephant sitting on my chest and I need to run with it because there’s a pack of wild dogs chasing me. Usually it’s triggered by my reaction to others words or actions, At other times it is self induced. I never know if it will occur during the day, sometimes it does not. Breathing really helps me to gain focus and I sometimes I have to talk my self trough, affirming that I will make it and that this feeling will pass.
