It is so hard to do in the moment, but if you have a friends that you fully trust or just yourself, always breathe. It sounds cliche, but just breathe. You can get control because you are string and you know you can if you just clear your mind and breathe.

I agree that breathing can produce a good relaxation and help clear the mind, but I disagree about it's absolute power. Breathing does not work for me at times, and it takes stronger things to control the anxiety and/or depression.

I definitely understand and know that, but for people who have no solutions its better than nothing. I do know and understand what youre saying.

For me if I focus on my breathing during an anxiety attack it makes me even more anxious. The best thing I can do is distract myself so I'll call a family member or friend and have them talk to me.

I heard the grounding method is pretty popular and works for a lot of people.

Find 5 things you can see

4 things you can touch

3 things you can feel

2 things you can smell

Identify 1 postive emotion, or one thing you can taste :)

Whoops, pressed send too soon 😂

But YES!! This technique works SO well for me! I typically find something to hold onto that's soft to try and focus on how soft it is while doing the grounding technique and it helps

Honestly i know its not the best but since i was 13 when things got bad where i could not contro emotions or things were getting bad id turn to smoking. It would relax me. Now 14 years later i still smoke but its only a bandaid fix. What i do is i have a happyface tatted on my left hand when i feel like things r getting to that point i will stare at that happyface and remind myself of the love that im surrounded by and just think of that till im relaxed. But does anyone have other advise to share on what they do to relax?
