Accepting my anxiety

Anxiety is something I have struggled with for my whole life, I only found out what it was that I was experiencing a few years ago.

At first, I was extremely relieved because I could put a word/name for what had been going on. Though it almost made me upset, that I didn't know for so long what it had been. I had always been told I was overreacting, or that it wasn't that big of a deal. That overall I needed to calm down all the time.

It made me upset that others had always been suppressing what was going on with me, that they had never told me that what I was feeling was valid.

My anxiety is valid, your anxiety is valid.

All of what you feel is valid, your feelings are valid !!!

I wish I had been told earlier that what I was feeling was okay, and that I didn't just need to calm down and I wasn't just overreacting. We aren't always told that as much as we need to be/as early as we need to hear it.

But I'm telling you that now. Your. Feelings. Are. Valid. You aren't just overreacting and being dramatic.

It's okay to have anxiety, but you are not your anxiety!! Your anxiety is not all of you, there is more to you than your anxiety.

You are more than what you feel and the anxious nerves you have. heart

@AmethystUnicorn

You're absoluetly right!!!!

At first I thought I was going crazy or weird because there are things about me that I cannot put into words and because of that, no one understood me. But now that I know that I'm just having Anxiety problems, some of my concerns cleared up.
