I'm often scared to leave the house. It's not healthy. I don't know how to make new friends or connect with old ones. I've tried everything.

@NeWay

It sounds very difficult to feel afraid of leaving your home and to struggle with maintaining connections. After trying so many things on your own, it’s understandable that you’re feeling discouraged.

Sometimes even small, gentle steps can make a difference

@NeWay  It’s okay to struggle sometimes. Having difficulties to connect with people can be overwhelming and lonely. Even reaching out here shows a lot of courage and we’re proud of you. Wishing you all the best!

Hi there! It sounds really hard to feel stuck at home and to want connection but not knowing how to get there. I hear that you are scared, maybe you can start small steps. ONE DAY AT A TIME! A little walk nearby, speaking with friends you trust.
You are not alone! Sending lots of strength to you.

@NeWay

I know the sounds very overwhelming to feel this way.

Taking even the smallest steps like saying hi to someone familiar, a neighbor or revisiting a hobby can slowly open doors.

Remember you do not have to fix everything at once just one little collection at a time can make a lot of different

I’m sorry to hear this ): I believe in you, you can do this!

You can start small such as a fun activity with a friend or family member

That’s really hard. Being scared to leave the house can make you feel trapped and alone, and not knowing how to connect with people just makes it worse.

Hello! I am also agoraphobic. As scary as it sounds, exposure is the first step. Exposure can help you so much. It is really hard work but I promise it’s worth it. I started doing consistent exposure work since 2022 after being agoraphobic since 2018. It took a lot of work and I’m currently in the process of still doing exposure. I leave my house almost everyday, I feel okay being home alone, and I don’t feel anxious in social interactions as often. If you don’t already have one, a therapist would help a lot. Someone who can help guide you through the ups and downs of exposure. I know this was posted so many years ago but if you need to talk, please reach out. Agoraphobia is so difficult and talking to others in the same situation feels comforting and less lonely.

I'm sorry to hear you've been going through this. Agoraphobia can be very hard to overcome.

You're not alone going though this, I'm here to listen and support you <3

@NeWay that sounds really tough to feel scared to leave the house and worry about connecting with people, that must be really frustrating and i get that it makes you feel lonely, but remember you’re not alone, I’m here for you! And it makes sense that you’ve been trying a lot and still feel stuck…

I want to acknowledge how much courage it takes to even put this into words. Staying isolated isn’t healthy, but the fact that you’re reflecting on it shows you’re already moving toward change. Please feel free to drop a text (DM) anytime you feel like talking. I will be here to listen. Please take care. You matter!
