I'm often scared to leave the house. It's not healthy. I don't know how to make new friends or connect with old ones. I've tried everything.

@NeWay

That sounds really hard, especially when you’ve been trying to find ways to connect with people and nothing seems to be working. It must feel frustrating to want that connection but still feel scared to leave the house. I’m glad you shared it here. What do you think feels hardest about leaving the house or reaching out to people?

I hear that you're afraid of leaving your house. It's normal for people to have fears no matter what it is. What do you fear will happen?

@NeWay

That sounds so heavy 💛 It takes so much courage to say this. It’s okay you’re scared—you’re not alone in this. Start small, even tiny steps count, and be gentle with yourself. You don’t have to rush. 💛

@NeWay- I am sorry that you are feeling this way. I can understand how overwhelming it can feel. Would you like to talk more about it, like how has it started and how is it impacting your daily life?

Making good friends is difficult and it takes many people a long time to make a real friend. What matters is that we're patient and we persevere. The best friendships can come from unsuspecting places. A walk to the store, an online game, a trip to the mall. Your time will come, I just know it!

It's very brave of you to want to grow, so I'm already proud of you! The world outside sometimes really does feel too scary to face, but you can do this. Take every day one step at a time, and every step, no matter how small, counts. One connection is all it will take. Having a safe person to be with you can really help anxiety, and I recommend getting a little treat to reward yourself for taking that step. You deserve it! There isn't anything wrong with you as a person that stops you from making connections. The fear that holds you back from going out is not the same as a fundamental flaw with your personality that makes you not worthy of friends.

Remember, you've got this! You're a wonderful person, and you'll find your person soon.

I believe in you!

Hi @NeWay,

Please remember that you're not alone. I know it feels hard right now, but I promise that you'll get through this. I get it - reaching out can be scary, but you don't have to do this quickly and all at once. It's important to give yourself time to process these emotions and make decisions when they feel right to you. Baby steps are okay! Maybe going on short walks first, then going to stores, malls, etc. I'm cheering for you! You rock :)
