Am I hallucinating or is it just illusions?

I think I have anxiety and it's causing me to overthink and question everything. I keep seeing things incorrectly and it's driving me nuts. I have a black and white cat and if I see black and white clothes etc. I keep thinking it's the cat. And I think the wind is someone talking. I'm hyper alert all of the time and super afraid when I see anything in the corner of my eye in case I think it's something else. Am I experiencing hallucinations?

@caretoomuch8 If there is really something there, but you don't correctly identify what it is, that's an illusion. For example, the wind really is making a sound, but you incorrectly identify it as a voice.

A hallucination is when there's nothing there. For example, when there's no sound at all, not even the wind, but you hear a voice.

If it's driving you nuts and making you afraid, then a doctor will know how to help.

I notice you posted your question in Bipolar, Schizophrenia & Psychosis Support. Those three conditions tend to be associated with hallucinations.
