Anxiety Drains The Life Out Of Me

Can anyone relate to the feeling where you're really scared of the future and the feeling that circumstances don't seem to be in your favor? I think I have this thing where I catastrophize future events even if it hasn't happened yet, and everyday I weigh in the probability of the worst case scenario happening, thus increasing my anxiety further - and it is so draining. I don't want to feel this way anymore. Does anybody know how to cope with something like this? Thanks in advance.

Hi jamonism, it’s normal to feel this way giving the fact that this pandemic affected us all in some way. Try CBT in order to discover the source of your catastrophic thoughts and change those thoughts with less catastrophic, it seems really simple but it will give you so much relief. Additionally you can try Feeling Great by dr David Burns. Stay safe!

@jamonism I can relate too, I tend to think about worst-case scenarios daily and it's very unhealthy. What's helped me is staying mindful and being very conscious of my thoughts

@jamonism
Hi Jamonism,
I'm sorry to hear you are feeling this way. It sounds to me like you are overthinking a lot of future situations which is causing you to feel a lot of anxiety. I understand how overwhelming overthinking can make you feel, I also overthink everything, even the littlest of things. I like to try and distract myself from thinking by keeping myself busy and take one day at a time. Have you tried to tell the people close to you about how you are feeling? I'm here if you ever want to chat!
