Anxiety Is Ruining My Life :(

I always feel like I'm living inside my head. I feel like I am not like normal people. I think too much, I act so little. I am always scared. I am always tired and not able to live in the moment. The past few days I have been doing so great. I decided to stop listening to my thoughts, and start acting anyway, and I have been studying well and emotionally stable, but suddenly with the least trigger, I became so exaggerated and started blaming the people who are close to me for little things and accusing them of not being able to understand me. I am too sensitive and I feel like nobody really cares about me (which I know isn't true). When I confront them with my broken feelings and crying, they get offended and start acting in defence and even blame me for getting mad at them, and the misunderstanding feeling increases. Am I wrong? What do I do and how do I deal with my feelings? I am so tired and I feel that my relationship with the people I love is threatened and they will soon be fed up with me.

@Wintxroses

Hey there! I've struggled with anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember. I often times also wonder what it's like to be "normal", but I don't think that exists everyone struggles with their own thoughts and feelings and you should never feel bad for how you feel.

Something that's helped me is just ...venting to someone who's not directly involved in the situation.

It may be different for you, but I know when I'm upset I panic, I want that feeling to go away as soon as possible (which causes more panic) and I get very emotional and just start talking and spewing my feelings expecting someone to say something to make me feel better--which works sometimes.

However, I've realized people's attempts to make me feel better are only temporary. It's only a matter of time before I open up that subject again in my head and rehash it until I'm a mess, and the cylce repeats. Something that's helped me with this is practicing mindfulness, which may seem silly at first.

Mindfulness is basically taking a few deep breaths and really acknowledging how you feel. I know when I first heard of it I thought it was silly, I'm always sitting with my feelings!! But the big thing is you don't try to fix it ... You just note that's how you're feeling in the moment, you sit with it. And it's a little uncomfortable at first maybe, but in time you'll find--or at least I have-- that it slowly fades away.

Once I've calmed down I do try to get to the root of what caused that feeling, that way I can address it with a level head instead of just acting on my emotions.

Those are just some things that have helped me personally. You may find other techniques or methods for coping. Message boards are great for that, but sometimes it's just nice to know you're not alone or "crazy".

I hope this helped a little! Those feelings are only temporary. 😊
