Anxiety about preparing for summer/moving

Hi,

I am feeling anxious because I have to move temporarily in June for a summer internship. I have taken steps towards starting to prepare for it, but things need to come together in a limited time. I found two people willing to sublet my room and asked them to contact my landlord. The landlord seems to be taking a long time to get back to them and it is making me really anxious. I just want her to pick one and am afraid if she waits too long they will have found another accommodation and I will have to start over looking for someone. I am thinking of messaging her again Monday maybe saying do you think you can pick someone by the end of this week? I am overwhelmed and really want to have it figured out.

Also posted looking for a pet sitter for my cat for summer today. I am hoping someone can take him and I am anxious about that too. Also will probably need to get a storage unit and it is going to be a lot of work to move my stuff again. Plus also need to buy some clothes for summer and watch training video. There's just so much to do and I don't have much help.

@Daydreamer47

It is clear you feel if all was set up you would feel at ease...... but would you....... i find in making plans for a situation as you described even the best made plans can fall through...... i used to fret and work myself up and had a friend who did not seem to have a care in the world.........

they told me what ever happens will happen ..........regardless of my worry and fretting ......... to embrace each challenge that comes up .... scary huh..... but when you find you CAN fix some last minute snafu and tackle items without wanting plans in stone ........I feel like i can do anything....... believe it will work out and that you will find the person or help you need when you need it ........ feels much more freeing then exploding if the best laid plans fail.

@toughTiger6481 ehh thanks I prefer to plan ahead and not "wing" things though. I find I am more calm when I just focus on taking actions and planning ahead as much as I can based on what is highest priority. I find that someone telling me to "wing it" just makes me more anxious because that is not my style and feels kind of demotivating instead of encouragement to do my best.

@Daydreamer47

I too feel like that .........

but after letting go a bit i see i can do it sometimes better then anyone can imagine...... i had to do many things on the fly as a work thing ...... being forced to change course or pivot has really helped me worry less about the plan.....

Sorry for being in an irritable mood but also someone saying "don't worry" is a huge pet peeve lol! I would rather hear something like "it's ok and valid to feel anxious given your situation." I prefer to validate negative feelings rather than expecting myself to not have them cuz it just won't work lol. I do not have light switch to turn off lol.
