Anxiety and Overthinking
I've been dealing with anxiety and overthinking for as long as I can remember. It's frustrating to have to face these everyday because I want to be able to feel truly free from these challenges. However, no matter what I've tried, I still have not found a "cure." In fact, my mental health has become worse over the past year. I'm constantly feeling like a failure because I can't seem to conquer this anxiety I'm experiencing. In hopes of finding a supportive community, I became a member of 7 cups today, and I am hopeful that I'll be able to find the right people that will help me overcome my anxiety and overthinking.
@cloudydayyy Hello, I've seen your post and just wanted to say that you are not a failure, what you are going through is not your fault and I'm absolutely sure you're strong enough to overcome your anxiety and overthinking, please seek help from your family as well I'm sure they'll be glad to help you without a doubt.
@cloudydayyy firstly I’d like to say welcome to 7 Cups and well done for making that first step in trying to get help. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a tough time at the moment. Unfortunately there is no cure or quick fix for anxiety, but there are things you can do to try and make yourself feel calmer. You’re most definitely not a failure, it can be a hard process to reduce your anxiety so please don’t be so hard on yourself because you haven’t managed to do this yet. One thing that helps me when I’m feeling anxious is meditation and breathing apps, have you tried any apps to help make you feel calmer? Talking about how you’re feeling can also help so maybe talk to your family and friends about how you’re feeling and I’m sure they’ll find ways to help you as well.
@geo123 Thank you! I have enjoyed being in the 7 cups community so far! You mentioned meditation and breathing apps in your reply. I will have to try those kinds of apps out because breathing exercises help me a lot. Are there any specific apps that you use that are more helpful than others? As stated in my reply to the previous comment, I am thankful to have a supportive family, and I have been able to talk to them about my mental health in open and honest conversations. I'm reaching out to 7 cups as well to get some more support as well. Thank you for your thoughtful reply!
