Does anyone else feel impending doom or like you're dying from panic and anxiety? I've been having attacks daily. It socks. Spealing with physciatrist tomorrow and so tired from lack of sleep due to sleep anxiety. I know God's got me, om just hurting and it's awful.

I feel your pain. I’ve been anxious and depressed for over a month. I talked to Psychologist on Monday for the first time in 7 years. It helped a lot. It seems that my anti depressants have taken a break. I’m getting through it though. Do you take any anti anxiety pills if needed?

@CDK I'm sorry to hear you've been experiencing this. I'm glad you were able to talk to someone and find some relief as well.

I've actually talked with a therapist for the first time as an adult on Monday and today with a physciatrist, she's recommended an anti depressant and an anto anxiety medicine as well. It was good to open up especially about the disassociation that happens with the panic. It's the creepiest and unnerving feeling but I glad to hear that it's not just me and it doesn't mean I'm loosing my mind !

@CDK1972

I was on an SSRI for 17 years. A few months ago it felt like it stopped working. Panic attacks, higher level of anxiety. It took time and a lot of work to find help. Eventually I was able to see a good psychiatrist at a Crisis center. He suggested upping the dose from 20mg to 30mg, then waiting about a month to see if it helped. If not, there's a Plan B. Over time our bodies, including our minds change, and we need to readjust. Sadly, it takes so long to find the right help, then more time to see what works. Don't give up.

Absolutely! It feels like I’m standing in a middle of the road and there’s a truck coming at me, but that impending doom is just continuing on. It’s really scary and not fun to deal with! I’ve dealt with it for over two months and honestly, it was a really scary point in my life! What helped me is distraction, but also reaching out to listeners on 7 cups to see if they could help guide me!

@TheFantasticPengua

I also had a lot of dissociation. Dehumanization, depersonalization. Here’s two things I do:

1. Tap from my head to my toes.

2. Touch everything in my room.

3. Pick up a heavy item and say this is heavy and do the same with a small item.

4. Splash cold water into my face.

5. Speak about experiences and try to figure out what’s causing it.

Hope that helps!

Hello Fantastic! Yes the dissociation is the hardest thing for me. It even happens at home and around and with family and can make me feel like I am somehow vanishing or about to faint watching myself shrink up . I have read it is the brains way of protecting us but it reallllllyyy socks!

I will try these tips and thank you so much for sharing them <3

I am glad to hear that this helps you!

I'm sorry to hear that you have been experiencing daily panic and anxiety attacks and that you are struggling with sleep anxiety. These are very difficult and overwhelming experiences, and it's understandable that you would feel hurt and distressed. it might be helpful to try some self-care strategies to help manage your anxiety and improve your sleep. This might include practicing relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or progressive muscle relaxation, or engaging in activities that promote relaxation and calm, such as yoga. I hope you get better soon 💓
