Anxiety denial - led to break up
Hi there,
Over the course of a year I was experiencing anxiety like symptoms and had several panic attacks. I couldn't understand what was going on, neither could my bf at the time. Eventually it drove him away. I was since diagnosed with GAD and PA. I've since told my ex what was going on, but he has decided he wants nothing to do with me. Completely heartbroken!!

Hey there. I understand you are going through tremendous amount of anxiety as well as stress and depression. I can not begin to imagine how heartbroken you were when your loved one decided to leave you because of something he should be there for to support. Nevertheless, you should definitely know that you are not alone facing your anxiety. We are trained listeners here at 7 cups and are very willing to listen and help you figure out a plan that is best for you. It is also very good that you have gotten yourself diagnosed and labeled your problems as generalized anxiety and panic attacks.
For your anxiety, we hope you are seeking medical help to get you the right treatment, whether it is medication, therapy or both. It is also important that you figure out if any event had triggered your GAD and try to accept certain things and avoid being in denial which would only make it worse. I reccomend you see a listener regularly as well as talk with a mental health professional to figure out more about your anxiety and how to resolve the matter.
For your stress and depression due to the breakup, I think that it should be a seperate issue that should be discussed with a listener and/or mental health professional. I hope that you are getting the support you need from your family and friends.
Liz has already volunteered to help you through this tough time, but if you wish to talk to another listener, I am usually available, so send me a message. If you want more options, make sure to browse listeners on our site at:https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/
Aside from the help, I hope you are also accessing our guides on anxiety and breakups:

He just has washed his hands off of me, wants nothing more to do with me.
