Anxiety of shifting house
Any one here is familiar with the feeling of shifting residence from one place to the other several times? I have had a hard time dealing with it twice in 26 years, and now I have to keep changing houses after every couple of years or so... I get so attached to some houses, that it's very difficult to cope with the loss and change leading to anxiety and depression. I take years to cope and sometimes I can't cope at all. Right now I feel like I just can't and won't leave this house where I stay right now. No matter what happens, I will not leave. I have only this year before we change, only 6 more months to go. This current house is so therapeutic for me! Its open, airy, top floor, close to nature, beautiful view from my window, very very therapeutic. It helped me with coping with my depression and anxiety in the last 1 year. How can I ever leave this little heaven? Can anyone relate to this situation? What has been your experience like? How did you cope?
@peacefulWarrior10 - I'm actually getting ready to move right now and it's definitely sad to be leaving my current home (and my current roommates!). One thing that helps me a lot is to try to find new exciting things about the new place (a new neighborhood to explore, a closet I love, etc.) and to focus on the things that I get to take with me (so much comfort comes from a couple key memory type things that I can bring along with me). What are things that aren't limited to your current home that give you comfort?
