Anxiety takes over my reality
Most of the time, I feel trapped inside the mental prison that is my own mind. On paper, my life is good. I have a good relationship, supportive friends, and a good job. The thing is, my anxiety is so bad that it doesn't let me enjoy any of these things. I have an issue with taking things at face value, I'm always trying to search for a deeper meaning to everything. I'm just so used to people having hidden intentions and having to look for answers that now that I'm surrounded by open and honest people, it's hard for me to take their word. This is frustrating on both ends and although my boyfriend/friends are understanding, I still feel really guilty. Everyday I feel like I'm making progress though, this is something I'm more than determined to change and I feel like I'm slowly but surely getting there. I'm getting better at talking myself down and bringing myself back to reality. It's a slow process and I wish I was able to speed it up but I know that change doesn't happen over night and it's going to take time but I'll eventually get to where I want to be.
Thanks for reading this and allowing me to get this off of my chest.
