Anxiety taking over

I've been having a lot of anxiety lately due to work 7 days a week for the past two months. And also planning a baby.. my boyfriend just lost his grandmother yesterday morning and when I'm not at work my anxiety is gonna make my head explode trying to keep it in. I've been trying to be so strong for him but seeing him like this and him not being home much it's taking a toll on me. Also, my 3 year old son doesn't understand anything that is going on and it's his great grandmother, I'm just so past overwhelmed, I'm starting to really lose it mentally

Hey there, @patientCoconut8215

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time with your anxiety lately and I know how distressing a family loss can be.. I can imagine that you want to be able to be there for your husband, that's normal, but don't put too much pressure on yourself because it usually only makes the anxiety worse. Have you tried managing these feelings with relaxation techiques? They can really help, no matter how pointless they might seem sometimes.

Take care of yourself and hang on in there.. you're not losing it, you're just stressed and that's okay, allow yourself the time you need. :)

@cloudTraveler thank you, do you have any particular techniques you feel are helpful ? I went to the park with my son and felt a lot better after that and a long shower .. I appreciate the advice also.

@patientCoconut8215

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Mindfulness exercises (you can find some here on 7cups also), deep muscle relaxation, breathing exercises, physical exercise and doing things that you enjoy and help you express yourself (for example I paint or play the piano) are all activities that help :) and if you see they do you should set a schedule so that you don't neglect them and end up in states of crisis.

Hey there!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having to go through such a situation. I hope you're better now. You can try different activities you like to calm yourself. Don't stress out, you're learning to handle a new situation and grow as a person <3
